Recycle Your Used Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) & Straight Fluorescent Tubular Lamps/Bulbs
Spencerport area residents may purchase recycling kits at the Village Office and have a choice of two types of recycling kits to purchase.
To recycle CFL’s you need to purchase the “Supply 123” Kit which has the following detail:

Here’s how it works:
- Stop by and purchase your recycling kit at the Village Office.
- Take it home, follow all the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Assemble kit.
- Fill the kit with your used CFL’s.
- Seal the kit.
- Install shipping label on the kit.
- Place recycling kit out for routine mail pick up from US Postal Service. (postage is prepaid on recycling kits)
- It’s that easy, you are done and you’re helping the environment.
To recycle 4’ Floursecent Tubes you need to purchase the “Supply 098” Kit which has the following detail:

Here’s how it works:
- Stop by and purchase your recycling kit at the Village Office.
- Take it home or to your business, follow all the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Assemble the kit.
- Fill the kit with your used 4’ Floursecent Tubes.
- Seal the kit.
- Fill out the shipping label and install it on the kit. It’s important to completely fill out the “From” portion of the label as this information is necessary to have the recycling center issue you a receipt of recycling.
- Keep the back copy of the shipping label for your receipt.
- Install the Blue Zone 1 seal on the kit as per instructions.
- Call FedEx Ground shipping toll free at (888) 777-6040 to arrange a pick up at your home or business. (As per instructions)
NOTE: US Postal Service will not pick up the 4’ kits, they must go FedEx.
- It’s that easy, you are done and you’re helping the environment.
Spencerport Municipal Electric does offer additional types and sizes of recycling kits, however they are special order with typical lead times of 5-10 days.
